How Norris can win the drivers’ title in Qatar
For Norris not to win the championship at the 23rd round of the season at the race in Qatar, Piastri, who currently sits second in the standings, will have to outscore his teammate by five points over the weekend, while Verstappen, who kept his title hopes alive with his sixth win of the season in Vegas, will have to outscore the British driver by 17 points.
The next race in Qatar, being a Sprint weekend, offers the largest haul of points - 33 total - from the remaining 58 up for grabs.
In any case, if either Piastri or Verstappen manages this, the championship race will head to the final round in Abu Dhabi.
The
Red Bull Racing driver currently lies 42 points behind Norris, with Piastri 32 points adrift in second.
