Max Verstappen will remain active in Formula 1 next season as well. The Dutchman announced this in Bahrain, despite all his criticism of the new generation of F1 cars. Earlier, Verstappen gave the impression that he might call time on his career because he dislikes this generation of cars so much: "Then everything would really have to turn out very negatively, but that’s not the case. I’m just carrying on,” he told, among others, GPblog in Bahrain.
Verstappen also explained that he can dislike something and still do it. Of course, he would have preferred different technical regulations, but "I also know that this is what it is, and that I always want to get the maximum out of it. Plus, I really enjoy working with everyone here and now having our own engine. So there are fun things too.”

Verstappen criticizes new battery in Formula 1
Verstappen previously suggested the cars will undoubtedly improve over the coming years as development progresses, but for him there will always be one fundamental issue: the battery. The Red Bull driver dislikes the fact it has to be recharged during a lap, meaning drivers can’t push flat-out at all times.
In Bahrain, Verstappen already said that Formula 1 shouldn’t start to resemble Formula E: "Don’t increase the battery, actually get rid of that and focus on a nice engine. And have Formula E as Formula E," he said, among other things.
