Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, along with several other drivers, will be investigated after the session at the Canadian Grand Prix for failing to follow the race director's instructions regarding the maximum delta time in SQ1.
A total of nine drivers are set to be investigated after the session for failing to adhere to the maximum delta time in SQ1. Alongside the two world champions, Lando Norris and Max Verstappen, the list includes Isack Hadjar, Gabriel Bortoleto, Oscar Piastri, Arvid Lindblad, Nico Hulkenberg, Pierre Gasly, and Oliver Bearman.

Update | No penalty for Norris and Verstappen

The FIA stewards have made a decision after the conclusion of Sprint Qualifying at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. As expected, the stewards have decided not to penalise either Verstappen, Norris or the other drivers under investigation for the incidents in question. It was determined that the drivers respected the required lap time across most parts of the circuit, but lost time by moving aside for cars on flying laps. Therefore, there was no case of ‘driving unnecessarily slowly’.
