Last week Nico Hulkenberg, unfortunately, could not participate in the Grand Prix of Great Britain due to technical problems. The German will, however, get a second chance at the Racing Point team this weekend.
We had to wait and see if Nico Hulkenberg could take place again in the 'pink Mercedes' at Silverstone. The former Formula 1 driver temporarily takes over the seat from Sergio Perez, who has become infected with the coronavirus. The Mexican only indicated not to suffer from any symptoms and hoped to be able to compete again this weekend.
Perez didn't get that approval from the FIA. The driver will have to stay out for the weekend and will probably be able to compete in the Spanish Grand Prix next week. According to the FIA guidelines a driver has to stay in quarantine for at least ten days after a positive test before he can rejoin the paddock.

Positive feedback after the return

The return of Nico Hulkenberg to Formula 1 has been received with positive feedback. Especially Max Verstappen is of the opinion that the experienced driver deserves a place in the king's class of motorsport. The Dutchman always got along well with Hulkenberg, as the German speaks Dutch fluently.
