Red Bull has officially confirmed that Isack Hadjar will be Max Verstappen’s new teammate in 2026, as Yuki Tsunoda is left empty-handed.

Hadjar becomes Verstappen's new teammate in 2026

Red Bull has just confirmed what GPblog wrote a few days ago: the Milton Keynes team is shaking up its lineup once again, this time giving the Frenchman a chance alongside the Dutch superstar.
Hadjar enjoyed an impressive rookie season in Formula 1, even securing a podium and consistently racking up valuable points, earning himself a promotion.
Hadjar said: "I’m so grateful to Oracle Red Bull Racing for giving me the opportunity and trust to race at the highest level of Formula One.
"After all the hard work I have put in since joining the Junior Team, it’s such a great reward.
"I’ve had many ups and downs throughout my career, and they kept believing and pushing me.
"This year with Visa Cash App Racing Bulls has been absolutely amazing, I’ve learnt a lot and secured a maiden podium.
"I feel I’m much better as a racing driver and a person, due to the Team‘s support and preparation.

"I feel ready to go to Oracle Red Bull Racing, and I am happy and proud they feel the same.
"It’s an awesome move to work with the best and learn from Max is something I can’t wait for."
Red Bull team principal added that he fully believes Hadjar can thrive alongside Verstappen.
Mekies said: "In his first F1 season, he has displayed great maturity and proved to be a quick learner.
"Most importantly, he has demonstrated the raw speed that is the number one requirement in this sport.
"We believe Isack can thrive alongside Max and produce the magic on track!
"2026 will be a huge challenge for the Team and for Red Bull Ford Powertrains.
"These are exciting times, and I am looking forward to seeing what we can do together.”

What happens to Racing Bulls?

At the same time, Racing Bulls has announced that Arvid Lindblad will make his Formula 1 debut next year to fill the gap left by the Frenchman, while Liam Lawson retains his seat after having been demoted at the start of the season.

This means that Yuki Tsunoda is the one left empty-handed, finding himself out of the F1 grid with hopes of returning through the front door in 2027.
The Japanese driver endured a disastrous season in terms of results, scoring just 33 points compared to his teammate’s 396 — a staggering gap that prompted Red Bull to once again opt for a change.
It’s telling that Hadjar, despite driving a technically inferior car, scored eighteen more points than Tsunoda, with Lawson also ahead in the drivers’ standings on 38 points.
Lindblad, meanwhile, although he didn’t win the F2 title, remains one of Red Bull’s most promising young talents and will get the chance to make his F1 debut just past his 18th birthday.
