Lewis Hamilton will receive a grid penalty during the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday evening. Mercedes have decided to put a new combustion engine in his car. The penalty is five places.
Rumours have been circulating that the German team had to replace part of Hamilton's engine this season. After the Mexican Grand Prix, Mercedes opt to make the change in Brazil.
It means that Hamilton will have to try to keep up with Max Verstappen from a minimum of sixth place. The Dutchman has a 19 point lead over his competitor and can increase this further with five races to go. If Hamilton wants to stay in the race for the world championship he will have to drive the podium in Brazil.
