Lewis Hamilton's car has gone to the stewards for investigation for a technical violation with the DRS. In case of a possible infringement, this could have major consequences for the title contender.
The FIA has released a document stating that the upper adjustable positions of the rear wing have been checked on the number 44 car. In doing so, it must comply with Article 3.6.3 of the Technical Regulations of Formula 1. The minimum distance was met, but not the maximum requirement of 85mm.
The matter has been taken to the stewards for their opinion.

Hamilton is facing a 19 point deficit in the World Championship. Earlier today, Mercedes confirmed they installed a new internal combustion engine to Hamilton's car meaning the Brit will take a five-place penalty. Hamilton could face a DSQ for the rear-wing issue and he would therefore start sprint qualifying from the back.
