Overtaking, or the lack of has been a problem in Formula 1 for a significant period of time now. When a car approaches another, the driver experiences a drop in downforce and therefore loses performance and struggles to overtake. Peter Windsor has a "simple, elegant" solution for this.

2021 rules

Formula 1 will experience a rule and regulation overhaul in 2021. DRS is set to continue on the cars, but revised aerodynamics should allow the cars to race wheel-to-wheel. A lot of the details on the front wings will be removed and the air will be pushed in different directions so that it causes less disruption.
