Lando Norris made a brilliant attacking move at the start of the sprint race to move into P2, but he threw it away on the final lap. At turn one, Norris locked up and lost a position to Carlos Sainz. It means the McLaren driver loses two points to Max Verstappen in the World Championship. The gap now stands at 54 points.
Norris started from P4 and looked like he was set to limit the damage as much as possible with a brilliant drive. He had to defend against George Russell. He beat the Mercedes driver, who used too much tyre life in the opening stages.
Norris looked set to try and move closer to Verstappen, but the Red Bull driver had too much pace. Norris then had Sainz close the gap and the mistake opened the door for the Spanish driver to make the overtake.
Later in the lap, Norris and Charles Leclerc almost crashed into each other. But they avoided contact. That could've resulted in a DNF for them both, or at least the rest of the pack catching them up.
