Originally, this weekend was supposed to be the 24 Hours of Le Mans. However, due to the coronavirus it was not possible to actually organize the race. That is why the organization decided to make it a virtual event. From 14:00, the virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans will start, in which drivers from all over the world and from many racing classes will participate.

Even Max Verstappen couldn't let the 24 hour race pass him by. Together with Lando Norris, Atze Kerkhof and Greger Huttu they share the car of Team Redline. They will start the race from fifth place. The Dutchman will start for the team. Not only Verstappen and Norris are F1-drivers who will participate in the endurance-race. Ex F1 drivers and current F1 drivers can be found in the starting field.

Many famous drivers

Pierre Gasly, Fernando Alonso, Stoffel Vandoorne, Brendon Hartley and Antonio Felix da Costa also participate in the LMP2 class. In the GTE class there are still a number of well-known drivers to be found. Charles Leclerc and Antonio Giovinazzi will compete together and Felipe Massa will ride together with Giancarlo Fisichella.

Verstappen, Vandoorne, Da Costa, Alonso and Button are some of the names that will start the race. Many sponsors are associated with the race and in general it seems that drivers are taking this event much more seriously than previous Esports events. Where the virtual Grands Prix of F1 was often only meant for entertainment, this race really is an event where there are a lot of rules.

Where to watch?

The 24 hour race will be held on the game rFactor2. The race can not only be watched via the official livestream of the organizer of Le Mans. Many drivers will also show their own perspective, on streaming platforms like Twitch or Youtube. So the race will officially start at 14:00 and will last until Sunday, June 14, at 14:00. The official livestream can be followed above.
