Fernando Alonso’s son may be the fastest baby in the world.
Fresh off announcing a new Aston Martin contract for 2027, the two-time champion spoke about fatherhood and how it’s impacted his racing.
Now aged 45, Alonso recently became a father for the first time, but rather than his baby Leonard slowing him down, he’s sped his son up.
Speaking to Cadena SER about his huge life change, Alonso insisted it won’t be impacting his speed on the track.

He instead revealed: "We've already taken a spin in a go-kart. When he was two months old, I carried him for a spin."
Some F1 drivers take fatherhood as a sign to step away, but for Alonso it’s quite the opposite.
He instead wants Leonard to experience the world of motorsport while his father’s still travelling.

Alonso continued: "Next year I want to share the circuits, the trips around the world, and take lots of photos with him.
“When I leave Formula 1, it's clear I'm not going to be travelling to 24 countries every year, am I? So, hopefully I can share a little more with them."
Alonso’s partner, Melissa Jimenez, gave birth to his first child in March amid another tricky F1 season for the driver.
The Spaniard currently sits 19th in the standings after a disastrous start to the new era of regulations for Aston Martin alongside engine supplier Honda.
Thankfully for Alonso, he now has the perfect distraction when he returns home from a disappointing race weekend.

Baby Leonard provides escape from difficult F1 campaign
He explained: "I think he's delighted with everything. Right now, he's a very smiley child, and it's truly wonderful.
“When I'm home, the few moments I have make up for all the difficulties we're having professionally."

Those difficulties have been vast, but Alonso explained why he's happy to keep going at Aston Martin.
"I'm very happy to sign a new contract with Aston Martin," he said. "I took my time to make this decision, but racing is my life, my passion, and I know I still have the speed and determination to compete at the highest level. I'm committed for the long term with this team and to helping us succeed.
"I truly believe in what we are building: we have strong leadership, incredible people, partners and facilities. I look forward to making more memories on the racetrack in front of the passionate fans. Their energy creates an atmosphere that inspires me and is what makes our sport special."
