Photo finish in 24 Hours of Daytona: difference of just 0.016 seconds
The final laps of the Rolex 24 at Daytona were a thrill in the LMP2 class. On the very last lap, car #4, which includes former Formula 1 driver Gutiérrez behind the wheel, had a great chance for victory, but they ultimately came up 0.016 seconds short.
Car #55 containing James Allen, Giamaria Bruni, Francesco Pizzi and Fred Poordad had just a little more speed than car #4 and the finish line was just far away enough to cross the line first. Never before had the difference been so small after a 24-hour race at Daytona International Speedway.
