Jordan: 'Hamilton will sign a deal with Mercedes within a week'

Lewis Hamilton is expected to race for Mercedes again in 2021. However, the deal is taking quite a long time to come to fruition: With only two months to go until the start of the new season, there is still no certainty.

However, former Formula One team boss Eddie Jordan thinks he knows if, and even when, the deal will be done. "I think the contract with Lewis will be signed this week. I can't imagine they're going to wait until February."

"What will Mercedes do after Lewis? They have it picked out, of course, but that's not Toto's modus operandi. He's taken a bigger stake and brought INEOS in. He doesn't want to have to worry about a new driver," Jordan tells Daily Mail.

He continues: "He wants to be there with the 'man of the moment', the king of kings in Formula One, and that's Lewis Hamilton."
