Ferrari hope to strike a big blow in 2024. That's when it needs to compete for the world title again. According to the Italian branch of Motorsport.com, the team have a car ready to go that will finally come close to the minimum weight.
Ferrari was the only team like Red Bull Racing to win a Grand Prix in 2023. Indeed, Carlos Sainz won the Singapore GP. Otherwise, it was a disappointing season for the Italian racing stable, which fell back to third place in the constructors' championship under the leadership of Frederic Vasseur.

Ferrari hope to take a leap forward

It must do better in 2024, Enrico Cardille also knows. The man responsible for designing the Ferrari 676, as Charles Leclerc and Sainz's new F1 car is called, has taken a significant step forward. Indeed, according to the Italian medium, the new car will fall below the minimum limit of 798kg.
Of course, Ferrari also have to meet that lower limit and will therefore have to add some weight, but this is a big step forward compared to 2023. Back then, the SF-23 was reportedly six kilograms too heavy. Whether it will also be enough to compete with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez's RB20 will only be seen at the Bahrain Grand Prix on 2 March 2024.
