We are in mid-September and Ferrari has not yet tested the entire Power Train on the dyno.
- Leo TurriniWith regards to Wolf Zimmerman's and Lars Schmidt's untimely departure, two key figures in Ferrari's engine department led by Enrico Gualtieri, Turrini seems to alude to two potential causes.
The first, dissapointment stemming from the lack of performance in the 2026 power unit. The second one, Audi's COO and CTO Mattia Binotto managed to coinvince the two by sheer arguments.
Either way, Turrini's following statements are meant to raise a few eyebrows. According to the Italian insider, Ferrari is to run their engines on the dyno.
"We are in mid-September and Ferrari has not yet tested the entire Power Train on the dyno," he said. "And there are three months to go before the homologation of the components by the FIA."
Not only this, but Turrini points to yet another sensible departure from Ferrari's ranks. Head of Aerodynamics Diego Tondi would be set to take his leave from Ferrari following a nearly 20 year spell at the Scuderia.
Turrini then compares Ferrari, under this current unsuccessful spell to a Grand Hotel.
"Winning helps to win, those who win celebrate and those who lose explain. And when you lose it is not unlikely to turn into a sort of Grand Hotel. People coming, people going..."

Furthermore, Ferrari's engine may have proven to be fast, and able to take the fight to Mercedes', whose engine is rumoured to be the class of the field.
Yet, there's a caveat: the 'extreme' power unit, would also be unreliable.Regardless, Nothing can be said of 2026 yet since no car has hit the track rendering all theories surrounding potential performance speculation at best.
