Zandvoort set to be unveiled as the location for the Dutch GP

Zandvoort is set to be unveiled as the location for the Dutch Grand Prix. The first edition is set to be held in May 2020 but all the details will be confirmed at a press conference at 10 a.m. today.

Heineken is expected to be announced as the sponsors of the race following months of negotiations between FOM and Circuit Zandvoort representatives. Heineken already has a large presence in Formula 1 being the sponsors for a number of Grand Prix already on the circuit.

The last edition of the Dutch Grand Prix was held in 1985 and was held 34 times between 1948 and 1985 as well as being the European Grand Prix twice. Jim Clark was the most successful driver at the track with four wins whilst Ferrari were the most successful constructors.

Zandvoort currently has a capacity of 62,000 but it is expected that up to 100,000 people could attend each day of the three-day event.
