Zak Brown admits that taking on Lando Norris for the 2019 season was a risk, but he's very happy with how it has paid off for McLaren. Norris was just 19 when he made his debut in Australia, but had a very impressive season, scoring regular points and more often than not appearing in Q3.
The young Brit scored 49 points to help McLaren to P4 in the constructors' standings and will have his eyes on even more in 2020.
Brown said, according to GPToday.net: "It was a risk because Lando was the youngest British driver."
"But from his first free practice, he was impressive. When he participated with Fernando Alonso in the 24-hour Daytona, there was even a debate to see who was faster.
"Lando seized the challenge, but during his first training I knew he was ready. He was just as relaxed as when I saw him on the grid of a Formula Renault race. He seemed calm and immediately up to speed."
