Toto Wolff was not happy to see George Russell lose pole position to Pierre Gasly. The Austrian addressed his strong reaction in a video on social media.
Gasly was among the last drivers to complete his final flying lap in Q3 at the Italian Grand Prix. In the end, the Frenchman managed to narrowly outqualify the Briton and claim pole position.
Wolff's sudden reaction was to hit the computer screen in front of him after the Alpine driver crossed the line.

The computer screen is fine, says Wolff

On Mercedes' social media, the Austrian was asked whether he had broken the screen in front of him. The Mercedes team boss said: "It's okay. I just cared so much for George to be on pole. He was the quickest car out there, and then we got obviously compromised in the last lap, so... yeah, that was annoying.

"Yeah, happy, I think I am happy for Alpine, we played a little part in there and them being on pole is something different and they've done a good job," Wolff added, referring to the fact that the French team also has Mercedes power units in its cars.

Kelly Piquet and Penelope meet Wolff and his son in Monza

Kelly Piquet and her daughter Penelope are present at this weekend's Italian Grand Prix. They cheered on Max Verstappen of course, who initially qualified sixth before being promoted to fifth on the grid after Oscar Piastri received a grid penalty for impeding Liam Lawson in Q2.
Ahead of Qualifying on Saturday, Wolff and his son Jack also met Kelly Piquet and Penelope in the Monza paddock. The Mercedes team boss showed his scooter to 'P' and took her for a ride before bringing her into the Mercedes garage.

Wolff and Verstappen's families know each other well. This year, they were also spotted together on holiday during the F1 summer break in Sardinia.
