Mercedes seems to be a lot more competitive than before after the first two practice sessions in Miami thanks to a number of updates the team brought. However, George Russell wasn't counting himself rich yet, and the same goes for his team boss Toto Wolff.
During the press conference, Wolff indicated that progress has clearly been made, but that Mercedes nevertheless still has a long way to go. "It's not good enough yet," says the Austrian.

Wolff attributes improvements partly to Miami circuit

He acknowledges that the new parts provide less drag, but also that the asphalt in Miami helps with the porpoising problems the German racing stable still faces. In doing so, he is working to dispel the suggestion that Mercedes has not yet come to a solution to the persistent problem.
Despite the first and fourth places of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton respectively in FP2, Mercedes is far from there, Wolff shares. "We have to be honest: it's not that we have found a groundbreaking solution," said a realistic Mercedes team boss.
