Wolff lashes out at Verstappen: 'With a middle-class salary, that doesn't hurt'

Toto Wolff did not mince his words when he finally spoke out about the penalty imposed on Lewis Hamilton by the FIA. The Mercedes team boss feels he has been treated unfairly and warns that 'in the coming races Mercedes will also start asking questions about every loose piece of tape'.
Earlier in the season, the Mercedes team boss made headlines for accusing Red Bull Racing of using a rear wing that was too flexible. Now Mercedes picked up a disqualification for a problem with Hamilton's DRS.

Wolff seeks revenge

He is therefore not particularly pleased that Red Bull has raised his team's rear wing issue with the FIA. "The 'gentlemen's agreement', to the extent that there was one in Formula 1, no longer exists," the Mercedes boss sighed in a press conference to, among others, the AD.
Wolff is looking for revenge. "In the coming races we will also ask questions about every piece of tape that comes loose somewhere", he sneered. The team boss has another nasty reaction to the fine imposed on Max Verstappen for breaching the parc fermé rules. "For someone with a solid middle-class salary, that doesn't hurt," Wolff said.
