Rinus van Kalmthout managed to get his first podium in the IndyCar Series on Friday, but unfortunately could not extend his good form to Saturday. In race 2 on Saturday he came in seventeenth position. Will Power eventually won the race.
Power started the race from pole position and did not give up that first position. He did get a lot of opposition from former Formula 1 driver Alexander Rossi and the talented Colton Herta. However, both of them came just short and were unable to overtake Power.
Rinus VeeKay had an underwhelming day on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. On Friday VeeKay crossed the line in third place, taking his first podium. But on Saturday he could only manage 17th.

Title fight

The title race in the IndyCar series remains alive until the last race. Championship leader Scott Dixon had a bad weekend in which he scored few points. So the title race will be decided in the streets of St. Petersburg
