Why Alonso thinks things will improve from France onwards

The comeback of Fernando Alonso is not yet as he had hoped. He admitted that earlier this week in an interview with Racer.com. However, he now sees light at the end of the tunnel and has an explanation for the disappointing performance so far.
Alonso is currently thirteenth in the championship and has collected just five points in the first five races. Although that's also due to an underperforming Alpine, he's still facing a considerable gap to his teammate at every GP. Esteban Ocon has already scored twelve points.

Calendar not in favour of newcomers and re-entrants

According to SoyMotor the two times world champion says that this is partly due to the circuits that have been visited so far. "Imola and Portimao are circuits where I haven't driven for years or have never even been. The rest of the grid was there a few months ago."
"Then you have two street circuits, Baku and Monaco, so that's four out of six first races where it's very difficult to adapt. I hope that from France the championship really starts for me," said Alonso, who has also raced at Paul Ricard only once before in Formula One.
