Sebastian Vettel has confirmed he doesn't like the idea of an all-electric series of racing. The German says he is no fan of the growing trend going against the traditional petrol heads.
Yesterday, the Formula E season kicked off which includes Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, BMW, Nissan an Jaguar. A variety of major car manufacturers which Formula 1 fails to attract, even when the rules change in 2021.
But Vettel sits firmly on the side of the fueled car.
"At some point, the cars we grow up with will not be built anymore. You have to accept that. But I don't believe electric cars solve all the world's problems either," Vettel told Auto Motor und Sport.
"In my opinion, it's the wrong technology. It's too expensive and not clean as they say. Think about the batteries. They may not dispose of them over here, but you have to dispose of them over there instead."
