Sebastian Vettel might've been a second faster than anyone else over these two testing weeks, but the German still believes his SF71H needs more performance.
After the testing today, Vettel immediately played down his record-breaking lap, and said it's still way too early to start drawing conclusions about where Mercedes Ferrari and Red Bull stand.
What the four-time champion did say though, is that he was very happy with the reliability of his car. The car logged 188 trouble-free laps today, and Vettel stresses how important that could be during this year.
"We still need to work on the performance and the feeling," he said. "The reliability was rock solid, we didn't have any major issues or concerns, so hats off to all of the guys back in the factory."
In the afternoon, Vettel completed a full successful race simulation. Still, it's hard to judge the performance of the car compared to the rest of the field.
"We got a smooth run, no issues in the car, no red flags, so we could carry on."
"I don't know in terms of the pace. You always know a few things you could've done better, just like in a race, but I think it went well."
Vettel won't drive again until the first Grand Prix of the year in Melbourne, as Raikkonen takes over the car tomorrow on the final day of testing.
