Sebastian Vettel has arrived in Montreal feeling positive ahead of Sunday’s race. Ferrari will be running with a new engine, and this type of track will suit their car.
The Italians last one a race in Bahrain but remain in real contention in both championships. When asked if he thought he could win this weekend he said: “We’ll see.”
“So far we’ve had a good car on the straights. We have a very efficient car this year. It should help us on this type of track.
“The tyres will be key, make sure they work and that they last. A couple of key points, but I like the track, I like being here.”
Vettel has only won once in Canada, and that came all the all the way back in 2013. A Mercedes engine has won at Montreal in eight of the last 12 races. But Vettel wasn’t phased by this.

“Compared to last year, we have another car, and the approach is, of course, also different. It is hard to make any prediction about this weekend,” added the German.
“A lot can depend on what the other teams can do here and on the weather as well, as it might raining - we think the engine can play a role here.”
It’s not just Mercedes that will give threats to Vettel, Red Bull will also be challenging, and Sebastian knows this all too well. “Of course they can.”
