Helmut Marko has previously mentioned that he would like Sebastian Vettel to be his successor. Vettel has now confirmed that he has talked to Marko about this.
Marko, who is 82 years old, has been working out a plan for when he steps away. He has already pointed to Vettel as the one he wants to take over.

Would Vettel want to become Marko's successor?

Vettel confirmed in a conversation with Kronen Zeitung that he has been approached about stepping into the advisory role.
“I am still in regular conversation with him. We talk about everything. And yes, we have discussed it once. Though I think that may be a subject for the future. But you never know what is going to happen."

Vettel has previously mentioned that Marko is still in the right place and that, due to his experience and knowledge, he will never be able to truly be replaced.

However, Vettel does seem somewhat interested in the position. While Marko is not planning to retire anytime soon, he does have a plan in place for when he does.
