Vettel beats Hamilton in final for best overtaking move of the year

Sebastian Vettel's overtake on Kevin Magnussen in the United States Grand Prix has been voted the best overtaking manoeuvre of the 2022 season by global Formula 1 fans. Every year, fans on Formula 1's social media channel decide who is the Crypto.com Overtake King of the year.

Several overtakes have been pitted against each other in recent days to determine who made the best overtake this year. Max Verstappen lost the semi-final to Lewis Hamilton, who advanced to the final with his double overtake at the British Grand Prix. There, the seven-time world champion took on Vettel.

However, Hamilton was no match for Vettel's overtaking performance in Austin. The German won the last poll with 56.7 per cent of the votes. The now-retired F1 driver battled for eighth position with Magnussen on the very last lap of the Grand Prix. Vettel managed to win the fight after an impressive overtaking move. Hamilton finished in second place with his double overtake on Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc at Silverstone.
