Last weekend was clearly not the weekend of Max Verstappen. The Dutchman crashed at Silverstone after contact with Lewis Hamilton and therefore scored no points during the race. The most important thing was that the Dutchman was unharmed, but Hamilton lost the battle for the championship to Verstappen.
Despite his lesser weekend Verstappen has written a record on his name. Last weekend was of course the weekend in which the new format was used for the first time. Free practice and qualifying on Friday, free practice and sprint race on Saturday and a race on Sunday.
Verstappen didn't score any points during the race, but the day before he outpaced Hamilton at the first corner of the sprint race. He didn't give away his first place for the next 16 laps, winning the sprint race. With that he collected three points. This makes him the first driver ever in Formula 1 to score points without finishing the race.
