Max Verstappen went on holiday with a good feeling after the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Dutchman is no less than 80 points ahead of Charles Leclerc in the world championship. With nine races to go he is therefore well on his way to a new world title, but Verstappen does not want to look that far ahead.
The reigning world champion realises that a lot can happen in the second half of the season. Ferrari have already announced a number of updates for after the summer break, while Red Bull Racing also wants to make some changes to the car.

Verstappen needs team to be sharp

In recent years, the Austrian racing team has been strong in developing the car, so things seem to be going in the right direction for Red Bull. Verstappen himself does not want to go that far, however, as past success is no guarantee for the future. He says so in an interview with The Race.
"When people say, ‘Red Bull has been really good in the past with upgrades and developing through the season’, we have to show it again," he stressed. "Because if every year you start thinking like that, then normally you fall behind because you think you’re that good."
