Verstappen retains lead in F1 Power Rankings, highest mark for Vettel

Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton received the most points after the United States Grand Prix in the F1 Power Rankings. Max Verstappen still leads the standings with the highest average, though.

After every Grand Prix, Formula1.com's F1 experts sit down to give the drivers a rating independent of the car's performance. This is how it happens that not the winner of the race, but the eventual P7 gets the highest score. Vettel gets a 9.2 for his performance in America, where he still returned to the top ten after a failed pit stop and made a great overtake on Kevin Magnussen on the last lap of the race.

Hamilton gets the same score as Vettel, after he just missed out on his first win of 2022 in Texas. Indeed, Max Verstappen, who came third with an 8.8, snatched victory from him in the closing stages of the race on Sunday. Charles Leclerc (8.6), Lando Norris (8.4) and Fernando Alonso (8.4) also got high marks for their performances.

In the top ten, we also find Kevin Magnussen (7.8), Alexander Albon (7.6), Sergio Perez (7.4) and Carlos Sainz (7.0). In the standings, we see few shifts with Verstappen still in the lead with an average of 8.8. This puts him well ahead of Leclerc (8.2) and Norris (7.8).
