Max Verstappen has kept it no secret that he wishes Renault would make a new engine, so Red Bull can challenge Ferrari and Mercedes in the future.
Verstappen's Red Bull team are switching engine suppliers from Renault to Honda next season, in an attempt to try and narrow the deficit between them and Ferrari and Mercedes.
The Dutchman has grown increasingly frustrated with the reliability issues that the Renault power unit has had this season.
"They had one last year as well I think," Verstappen replied when asked about Renault preparing a completely new engine for 2019. "(Catching Mercedes and Ferrari) was the idea four years ago as well. And three years ago as well. And two years ago as well. It's always the same old song.
"I don't care. I'm totally not thinking about that. I'm looking forward to the challenge we have with Honda now."

Renault boss Cyril Abiteboul believes that his company's engine performance has suffered because of the rivalry going on with Ferrari and Mercedes this season.
Abiteboul confirmed that Renault will bring in a brand new engine design for 2019 to try and eliminate its deficit.
