Max Verstappen is seemingly unphased by the fact that his record run of Grand Prix victories in Singapore has come to an end. The Red Bull Racing driver is "absolutely fine" with the counter remaining at 10 wins in a row, a record that will not be easy to break.
Verstappen started 11th on hard tyres, hoping for either an early or a late safety car. That scenario did not materialise: the safety car came out around lap 20, perfect timing for all the other Formula 1 drivers. "It was possibly the worst-case scenario," Verstappen told Reuters. "It was exactly the wrong time to come out."

Verstappen not sad about the end of record series

About his record series of F1 victories, which remains at 10 due to his fifth place in Singapore, the Dutchman is anything but mournful. "I knew this day would come, so for me, it's absolutely fine," he says soberly.
"Everything needs to be perfect. Like everyone is always saying, 'Ah, look how dominant they are, look how easy it is'. But it's not easy... this weekend, we didn't get a few things right, and then you're on the back foot, and you don't win," Verstappen said.
