Max Verstappen has matched Michael Schumacher when it comes to race victories. Overall, Verstappen still has a few more to go, but he is now level with Schumacher for wins with a single team.
Verstappen secured the 72nd victory of his Formula 1 career at the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia. Verstappen has taken all of his wins with Red Bull Racing, leaving only Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton ahead of him.
Verstappen equals Schumacher
Verstappen has nonetheless matched the Ferrari legend in terms of wins for a single constructor. Schumacher claimed 72 of his 91 Formula 1 victories with Ferrari. Verstappen has now equaled that tally.
Verstappen isn’t done yet, though, because just as with total wins, Hamilton also leads in victories for a single constructor. Of his 106 wins, Hamilton took 84 with Mercedes. To match that, Verstappen needs 12 more wins, and in total he would still need 34 to equal Hamilton’s overall career victories.
