Max Verstappen has revealed he is looking forward to the “special and hectic weekend” which is the Monaco Grand Prix as he prepares to emulate his former teammate, Daniel Ricciardo’s win from last season.
Verstappen has performed admirably this season, achieving two podiums as well as never being beaten by both Ferrari drivers. The Dutchman has also won the battle within his team, dominating Pierre Gasly at every race so far.
The Red Bull driver is seen as the most likely to break the Mercedes early-season dominance in Monaco but he’s just looking forward to what the most famous race on the calendar has to offer.
Speaking to his website he said: “It was great to be back on stage in Barcelona, and I am already looking forward to Monaco.
“It is a special and hectic weekend. It is a street circuit with a lot of history, and it has not been the best circuit for me in recent years, but hopefully, I can change that this time.

“I live in Monaco and it is nice to sleep in my own apartment instead of in a hotel.
“A few friends and family will also be there and I look forward to meeting them and having a good weekend.”
