Max Verstappen has attributed his victory at the Las Vegas Grand Prix to the strong tyre management the RB21 displayed at the Nevada race. “Today it seemed like we had it a bit more under control, and I could push a little bit more.”

Red Bull Racing driver, who coasted to an impressive victory under the lights, led every lap after taking first place from
McLaren’s
Lando Norris at the opening corner of the Grand Prix. Reacting to his win after the race, the Dutchman also stressed how the reduced degradation helped unlock more pace throughout the evening.
“The race is a tough one for us. We are normally not that great on tyres, but today it seemed like we had it a bit more under control and I could push a little bit more,” he said.
“That unlocked a little more pace, and I could stay out a little bit longer and split the race in half. That helped a lot. The car was working well and much more to my liking. In the end, it was quite a decent gap,” Verstappen concluded.
Verstappen still in the title fight?
Verstappen weighed in on the championship battle following his victory on the Vegas Strip. The four-time world champion, however, offered a cautiously optimistic response when asked about the possibility of overturning the deficit in the title race.
“It’s still a big gap, but we always just try to maximise everything that we've got, and this weekend that was first. In the upcoming weekends, we will try to win the race and at the end of Abu Dhabi, we will see where we end up," he began.
Verstappen also expressed his delight with the
Red Bull Racing team, emphasising how proud he was of the turnaround the team has produced throughout the 2025 season.
“I'm very proud of everyone. We've had a really up-and-down season with tough times, but also really beautiful moments. We learned a lot throughout the season and that's very valuable for the upcoming years.”
“It’s something we’ll cling on to and improve even more, to come back stronger for next season and put up a fight from the start of the year in the championship. We are enjoying it now and will see next week what we can do.”
