Verstappen expects strong car: 'We are excited for next year’s car already'

Max Verstappen was on hand to give some demonstrations at the Red Bull Racing Home Run in Milton Keynes on Saturday. The two-time world champion spoke to Verstappen.com about the upcoming Formula 1 season.

Winning both world championships, Verstappen could not be more pleased with the calendar year. The team managed to build a car that put it well ahead of Ferrari and Mercedes in 2022. However, the driver is trying to keep the focus and wants to perform at least the same next season.

"Of course we are looking forward to next year. We know that we can do even better and we are very excited for next year’s car already," he commented. However, Verstappen wants to celebrate holidays first. "I’ll think about that after January 1st. First I need a little break."

On Friday, Verstappen appeared at the FIA Gala to receive the season's top prize. In doing so, he revealed that he did not believe in the title in the early stages of the season, but that he is proud to have emerged victorious in the end.
