With just a day before the 2020 Formula 1 cars head out on track for the first session of the season, the paddock is divided on whether the race should be postponed due to the coronavirus. Max Verstappen thinks it's a wise decision to give the green lights.
Lewis Hamilton is shocked by the decision to race in Melbourne following the recent outbreak. The World Champion believes the race should be cancelled as other sports continue to shut down their competitions and events in fear of the disease.
Yesterday, MotoGP announced yet another change to their calendar. While Formula E have dropped another race themselves. Formula 1 is so far unchanged, apart from the Chinese Grand Prix.

Verstappen says he does not agree with Hamilton, after being asked if it is the right decision to hold the Australian Grand Prix for the fans. “I think it is a wise decision. It is, of course, a difficult situation, but we try to make the best of it," the Dutchman explains to Fox Sports.

A normal race weekend

The Aston Martin Red Bull Racing driver remains calm about the situation. "We are just trying to start the season and hopefully we have an exciting weekend ahead. It is difficult to say what impact the virus has, but we try to run as normally as possible throughout the week," Verstappen added.
