Max Verstappen has declared that he has no interest in driving a LEGO minicar and wishes that the drivers' parade for the British Grand Prix was just "normal".
LEGO cars return to Formula One for the drivers' parade on Sunday after they last appeared ahead of the 2025 Miami Grand Prix. It was popular with fans and the parade was successful, though destructive, after drivers crashed into each other. This year each driver will have their own smaller LEGO car, after it was one per team the last time they featured in Miami.
The LEGO cars were a big talking point on Thursday among drivers, with Lewis Hamilton originally casting doubt on whether he would drive one of the cars, before Ferrari later confirmed he would take part in the drivers' parade.
Four-time world champion Verstappen is not fussed with the LEGO parade and would prefer to be driven around on an electric truck so he can wave to the fans.
When asked about the parade, he said: "I just get over it as quickly as possible, wave to the fans because they deserve that. But, of course, if it was up to me I would just like a normal drivers' parade. What is wrong with it? Just an electric truck or whatever driving us around. I think that's fine but it is what it is, but it is not like a draw."

Verstappen responds to McLaren rumours

Speaking to the media including GPblog on Thursday, Verstappen also responded to rumours that he could leave Red Bull and join McLaren in the future.
Verstappen was asked about the rumours and comments from Lando Norris, who said it was a "cool thing" that Verstappen wanted to join the team. In response, Verstappen said: "I'm not going to involve myself in that. I've said what I've wanted to say already before. If there is something new, or something that changes you will hear it from me and not from someone else.
"I just focus on the job I have with my team, we are on the way up and that is nice to see. I had a really positive weekend in Austria, we're just trying to improve from there further... there's a lot of competition, but we're here just to try and go faster."
