Verstappen camp spotted at McLaren hospitality during Belgian GP weekend

There, a meeting took place with Dries Van Langendonck, GPblog has learned, the young driver who recently joined Verstappen's team and will receive guidance from the four-time world champion.

Recently, Verstappen Racing, the Dutchman’s own racing team, entered into a partnership with McLaren to support Belgian junior driver Dries Van Langendonck. The 15-year-old will remain part of the McLaren Driver Development Programme while also receiving backing from the four-time world champion.

Ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix weekend on Thursday, Verstappen was once again asked about his future in Formula 1. However, the four-time world champion avoided offering any fresh insight, insisting there was nothing to add.

Oscar Piastri also sought to cool the speculation. The Australian reiterated on Thursday that he wants to continue with the team that gave him his Formula 1 debut in 2023.

Speaking to GPblog, among others, Piastri confirmed that he will remain with McLaren next season. The Australian also played down the speculation linking Verstappen with the Woking-based outfit, stressing that he feels completely comfortable within the team and has received full backing from both Zak Brown, Andrea Stella and the wider organisation. While acknowledging the rumours surrounding the Dutchman's future, he reiterated that he is happy with his current situation and sees no reason for concern.

He then added: "I'm not really that bothered. I think it's important for people to know where things sit, where the market sits, and the information you can get is good. I trust the team here. And the things I've been told and the belief in me, so that's all I really care about."
