Verstappen booed during driver parade

Max Verstappen will have a tough race today. He starts from the second row of the grid and with two strong Mercedes cars in front of him. Also, the crown is not on his side: even though his girlfriend is Brazilian, Verstappen was booed by some of the fans during the drivers' parade.

Lewis Hamilton was named honorary citizen of Brazil last week. Moreover, he expresses his love for the country time and again. Possibly the admiration for Hamilton is the reason why his rival Verstappen is booed.

This is not the first time drivers have been booed. Verstappen, for instance, did not have on a pleasant reception at Silverstone. In Hungary, Hamilton was once the victim of a negative approach from the fans.

Earlier in the day, Alpine spoke out against annoying fan behaviour on social media. There, Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso received some negative messages after their incident during the sprint race.
