Carlos Sainz Sr. has recently confirmed that he is seriously considering running for president of the FIA. On Thursday, Max Verstappen shared his opinion regarding Mohammed Ben Sulayem's possible competition.
Verstappen said, "I read about that a little bit. I do think that he's very well respected in the world here and in the rally world."
"People always say, 'but it's conflicting with his son', but he's professional enough to keep that separated from each other. It would be a great addition to run for president."

Verstappen was then asked if he thought Sainz Sr. would be a better president than Ben Sulayem.
Verstappen hit back, saying, “Yeah, you can fill that in yourself. It's stupid for me to comment on that here."
Ben Sulayem's presidency has not been without its controversy, especially regarding rules around drivers swearing. However, changes have recently been made to Appendix B. Now the base fines start at €5,000 instead of €10,000. Ben Sulayem stated that he was well aware that emotions can run high in a race, and that is why they reviewed and adjusted the regulations.
