The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the much-discussed Grands Prix on the Formula 1 calendar. Critics say there is far too little overtaking, and that the race is rather boring. It is often joked that the outcome of the race is actually already decided on Saturday by the qualifying results. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez give their views on this discussion.
Should the Monaco Grand Prix be removed from the calendar according to Verstappen? "No, I don't think so," he said during a Red Bull Racing broadcast. "I do think that we can look at maybe some things to improve. So we can race a little bit or at least have a kind of a passing opportunity somewhere," he continued.

Perez and Verstappen see problems with cars in Monaco

Perez added: "The problem is also the cars." Verstappen agrees with his teammate, adding. "The cars are too wide, so hopefully with the new regulations they'll become a bit more narrow. It will still be tough, so maybe we need to look at out of the tunnel to maybe have a different configuration or something."
In 2023, this Grand Prix was won by the now three-time world champion. Surprisingly, driver Esteban Ocon was on the podium here with a third-place finish. Perez finished 16th in the Grand Prix.
