Verstappen after trick in his last lap: ''That's how I made him doubt"

Max Verstappen was at the start of the Pro Fun Cup on Tuesday in the race simulation of IRacing and managed to win the second race there. Max Benecke was in the best position for a slipstream, but Verstappen was creative.

The long straight on the Daytona circuit gave the race leader a big disadvantage. In second place, you were in the ideal position for a slipstream towards the finish, which prevented both drivers from leading the race. Verstappen was in the lead, but applied the brakes for the last chicane.

The braking confused Benecke, an experienced e-sportsman, because he didn't want to be in the lead. Before Benecke was able to push the gas again, however, Verstappen had already punched the gap and the margin was big enough to get over the finish line first.

"It was a fun race. Max and I worked well together at first to get away, but of course we both didn't want to be in the lead. I knew that too, but I couldn't do much else. This way I made him doubt and at six tenths I had just enough to stay ahead'', says Verstappen after the race in the livestream.

Of course Verstappen would have preferred to have been in an F1 car, but he also likes this. "This keeps me on my toes and there's not much else you can do, because everyone has to stay inside. Of course I also like it and would have done it in the winter. It can't hurt either, because I think I can learn a lot from this as well, so I'm just training'', concludes the Red Bull Racing driver.
