Verschoor in action in Abu Dhabi, replaces recovering Fittipaldi

It had seemed that Richard Verschoor could not finish his season in Formula 2. Because of budget problems MP Motorsport was unable to race the last two races of the season, meaning the Dutchman was absent in Saudi Arabia, but he will now be back in Abu Dhabi.

Good news for Verschoor. He gets to join Charouz Racing in Abu Dhabi as a replacement for Enzo Fittipaldi, who suffered a nasty crash in Saudi Arabia. "First of all, I want to send my thoughts to Enzo Fittipaldi. I hope you recover quickly and well," Verschoor let us know on Twitter. "Unexpected, but I'm happy to be racing again and excited to do so with Charouz Racing. Hopefully we can finish this season together at a high level!"

Verschoor also thanks everyone for all the support he received when it was announced that he could not finish the season. "Also, I want to mention everyone who took the time to send me messages to support me. Thanks to you guys and of course my sponsors, I made it happen. Let's race!" Verschoor is tenth in the F2 championship with one win to his name.
