Vasseur: 'Zhou impressed from day one'

With the announcement that Zhou will also drive for Alfa Romeo next season, there is yet another seat filled for next year. Zhou, driving in Formula 1 for the first time this year, has extended his commitment for one more season. That means the 23-year-old driver will have at least one more season to permanently secure his future in the king class of motorsport.

"From day one he has impressed me with his approach to work and this is always a very positive trait. We knew he was quick, but the way he has adapted to Formula 1 in such a short time has been one of the best surprises of our season. He is a very nice guy, everyone in the team likes him," Vasseur interjected to his own employer.

He continues: "He is humble enough to ask questions and learn, from the engineers as well as Valtteri [Bottas], and he is smart enough to apply everything and improve race after race. He will build on this experience next season, and I am sure he will make another step forward as we continue to grow our team." Zhou is currently 17th in the championship, with just six points. His teammate Valtteri Bottas is in tenth place.
