Yuki Tsunoda thinks things will work out for Nyck de Vries' Formula 1 career. The Japanese driver still has faith in his teammate, he told Motorsport.com.
"Nyck needs to sort some stuff out," states the AlphaTauri driver. The youngster thinks the Dutchman is suffering from a lack of consistency. "The pace is there, he just needs to get into a good rhythm. In previous races and with previous results, he has shown what he can do. I'm sure it will come." Nonetheless, the pressure on De Vries is already increasing significantly. Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko is just short of dreaming aloud about a replacement.

'Not a fast car'

De Vries also does not have the material to impress easily, Tsunoda believes. "Nyck shows good pace in free practice and in some qualifying sessions. He's just unlucky that we don't have a fast car. Then it is difficult to score good results and show a good performance." Next weekend, the Dutchman has another chance to prove himself, at Silverstone. He travels to the British circuit with confidence himself.
