Lando Norris crash into the back of Oscar Piastri is still the most talked about incident of the Canadian Grand Prix. Current Sky Sports F1 pundit Danica Patrick saw Norris' despair culminate in nightmare scenario for McLaren.

After Norris took a deep lunge on the inside of Piastri at the hairpin, and the Australian paid the move back at the final chicane, Norris was the active force in the manoeuvre, yet he didn't take any action to avoid the crash sees former IndyCar racer in Sky Sports' broadcast.

“The dynamic that’s been unfolding throughout the season, he could have gone right, he could have lifted, there’s so many other options."

“He came off the chicane and he had the momentum because he had a better line off the first part of the chicane."

Why did the incident come about? Patrick believes she knows the reason why. “It was like in his head there was no way he was going to lift off and give up that momentum no matter what and he ran out of room.”
