A disappointment for many: Due to the heavy rainfall and flooding in northern Italy, the Grand Prix of Imola could not be held. While it is a disappointment for many people that the race weekend will not take place, it is a very intense time for the residents of the region. The Italians see the area flooded for the second time in a short time.
On Tuesday, the teams' staff present were summoned to leave the Imola circuit. Even on Wednesday, after the race was definitively cancelled, there was no permission to collect the materials and trucks. According to the Gazzetta - previously confirmed by team boss Sander Dorsman of Formula 2 team MP Motorsport to GPblog - the teams are intended to be given the opportunity to collect their belongings this Thursday. Incidentally, not all materials were present on the circuit. For example, the Italian sports newspaper writes that Ferrari, for example, already had catering staff working around the track.

On to Monaco

In a normal race weekend, the gear is packed as soon as possible after the Grand Prix. Often during the podium ceremonies, the first crates of materials are brought to the trucks. It is still unknown whether all teams will succeed in getting all materials out of Imola in the coming hours and days. If everything goes according to plan, there will be more time than usual to drive to the next Grand Prix. This will take place in Monaco in just over a week.
The organization has also announced that all ticket holders will receive a refund of their entrance fee. Everyone will be informed about this in due course.
