Aston Martin is not performing as well this season as it did last season. Lawrence Stroll's team seems to be able to finish fifth in the Constructors' Championship at best and is struggling to make it into the top ten.
Yet
Otmar Szafnauer is not dissatisfied. In conversation with
GPFans Global, he says that especially
Sebastian Vettel has made a big step since the beginning of this year. The German came to Aston Martin with a clear goal.
"In the beginning, before Seb came here, he said to me, 'Look, the reason I want to come is that I want to enjoy racing again.' That was his reason for coming.' If you ask him, which I often do, he is now at a point where he is enjoying racing again."
Vettel enjoying it again
And that, according to the Aston Martin team boss, is the most important thing. "He feels very comfortable. He's enjoying racing again, and that's good. That's exactly what he wanted."
Along with teammate
Lance Stroll, he will be looking to secure fifth place in the constructors' championship. Both drivers and their team have eleven races left to do so.
