The race stewards at the
Japanese Grand Prix have opted not to take any further action regarding the last-lap incident between
Pierre Gasly and
Sergio Pérez, as the latter ended the race in the barrier after colliding with the
Toro Rosso driver.
Pérez actually kept his P9-finish at Suzuka despite crashing into the barrier as it technically happened after the race had already finished. The Mexican went round the outside of Gasly to make a move for P8, but the Frenchman tagged the
Racing Point as the pair went through turn 2.
The stewards have decided not to take any further action, however, as neither driver was deemed wholly at fault for the collision, besides from the fact it technically happened after the race had already finished.
